Western Marsh Harrier (adult male)
wild bird - taken near Leipzig, Germany
Sooo since my parents live near a really beautiful area - a big forest with some meadows and lakes and rivers and stuff - where you can see all kinds of animals, I decided to go out and try my luck. It was a nice morning and though my 300mm lens is way too short for wildlife, I like some of the shots from today. This one's heavily cropped and I tried to do my best in editing it; the quality still sucks, but I was sooo happy to see him! We have all kinds of birds of prey I see quite often - Red and Black Kites, Common Buzzards, Common Kestrels - but I've never seen this species around before.
